This Privacy Policy explains how KOAT (Korea Analytics Technology) (“KOAT,” “we,” “our,” or “the Company”) collects, uses, shares, and safeguards personal data in connection with the KOAT services. We comply with applicable privacy regulations, including the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection and the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea.

1. Information We Collect

• Device Information: device model, operating system, screen resolution, application version, mobile identifiers (e.g., advertising ID), language, time zone, and IP address
• Location Information: general location such as country and state inferred from the IP address (city-level location may be requested with consent)
• Service Usage Data: quiz responses, scores, puzzle completion status, progression details, session logs, and engagement metrics
• Support Inquiries: email address, message content, and attachments you voluntarily share
• Automatically Collected Data: cookies, crash reports, performance metrics, advertising views, and interaction logs

2. How We Use Personal Data

• Deliver and maintain quiz experiences and related services
• Serve relevant advertisements and manage frequency capping
• Analyze usage trends to improve product quality and stability
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security risks
• Respond to inquiries and provide customer care
• Comply with legal obligations and maintain necessary records

3. Use of Advertising Identifiers

We rely on Android Advertising ID and similar identifiers exclusively for in-app advertising purposes. The Company does not store or process these identifiers outside of the advertising context. Advertising partners may use the identifiers to deliver banner, interstitial, and rewarded ads aligned with user interests. You may reset or limit ad tracking from your device settings.

4. Retention of Personal Data

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide the services or to comply with applicable laws. When the retention period expires or a user requests deletion, the data is either destroyed or anonymized without delay.

5. Data Destruction

Personal data is securely deleted using irreversible technical measures. Paper records, if any, are shredded or incinerated without delay. Because we generally do not store personal data on separate storage media, destruction mainly involves removing transient service data.

6. Cookies and Automatic Collection Tools

We may automatically collect IP addresses, device identifiers (such as device ID, advertising ID, MAC address, or IMEI), usage preferences, notification settings, and crash logs. You may refuse cookies or limit ad tracking through your device/browser settings, though certain personalized features may be unavailable.

7. Sharing with Third Parties

We do not sell personal data. We share limited information with trusted third parties solely for service delivery and only in accordance with applicable law:

• Google AdMob: used to provide personalized advertisements (purpose, data collected)
• Google Play Services: used for app distribution, analytics, and crash reporting (privacy policy)

When legally required, we will obtain user consent before sharing data. We may disclose personal data to government authorities if mandated by law or court order.

8. Your Rights

• Access, rectify, or delete your personal data at any time
• Change push notification preferences via in-app or device settings
• Exercise data protection rights through the contact information below

9. Security Measures

• Access to personal data is restricted to authorized personnel with regular security training
• Data in transit is protected by encryption (HTTPS)
• We conduct routine log monitoring and anomaly detection
• We incorporate privacy clauses in agreements with external partners

10. Children’s Privacy

Some of our services (e.g., Animal Quiz King / 동물 퀴즈왕) are designed for children and families. For these services, we adhere to the following children’s privacy principles:

• We do not collect personally identifiable information in child-directed services. No account creation, login, name, email, or phone number is required.
• Data collected in child-directed services is limited to the minimum device information necessary for service operation (device type, OS version, app version) and anonymized usage statistics (quiz scores, progress).
• Advertisements in child-directed services use Google AdMob’s Tag for Child-Directed Treatment (TFCD), ensuring no personalized ads are shown and only age-appropriate ads are displayed.
• If we become aware that personal data has been inadvertently collected from a child, we will promptly delete it and take appropriate actions.
• We comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and relevant children’s data protection provisions under the Personal Information Protection Act of the Republic of Korea.

Services not directed at children (Super Rich Dad, Korean Spelling Quiz King, 100 Routine Push Ups, WordWise GRE Coach) are intended for users aged 14 and above, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 14 for these services.

11. Changes to This Policy

This policy has been effective since 13 March 2026. Updates will be notified via email or in-app/web notices prior to the effective date. Please review this page periodically to stay informed.

13. App-Specific Notice — People Map

People Map helps you record and manage your personal relationships. Unlike our other apps, it stores information about people that you enter or select yourself. The following applies in addition to the sections above.

13-1. What we store

• Account data: your email address, or an identifier from Apple/Google sign-in
• People records you save: name, phone number, email, company and job title, how you met, meeting notes, memos, anniversaries, group labels, and photos
• Contact import (optional): if you grant address book access, the app displays your device contacts so you can browse them. Only the contacts you explicitly select are saved. Contacts you do not select are neither stored nor transmitted to our servers.
• Business card scan (optional): text recognized from a card you photograph is used to pre-fill the fields listed above.

13-2. Storage and handling

• Saved data is held in a cloud database (Supabase, US region) and transmitted over HTTPS.
• Row Level Security is enforced on all records, so data is readable and editable only by the account that created it. It cannot be retrieved by other users or by unauthenticated requests.
• We do not sell the people records you save, and we do not use them for advertising or share them with third parties.
• People Map contains no advertising, and the app has no capability to send SMS or place calls on your behalf.

13-3. Information about third parties

Records you save may include personal data about people other than yourself. Such data is processed solely to support your own relationship notes; we do not analyze it separately or expose it to other users. You are responsible for handling third-party information lawfully, and you can delete any record immediately within the app if the person concerned asks you to.

13-4. Retention and deletion

• Data is retained until you delete it or close your account.
• Deleting a person or record in the app removes that data immediately.
• Closing your account deletes all data associated with it.
• Deletion requests may also be sent to help@koat.co.kr.

13-5. If you decline permissions

Address book, camera, and notification permissions are all optional. Core features — manual entry, relationship notes, and search — work normally without them, and you can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings.

14. App-Specific Notice — Cat Chase

Cat Chase is played without an account. There is no sign-up or sign-in, and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or anything else that identifies you. The following applies to this app.

14-1. Cloud backup (optional)

• Your progress is sent to our servers only when you tap Settings > Cloud Backup > “Back up now.” If you never do, everything stays on your device.
• What is sent: fish, unlocked cats, skins and cosmetics, stage records, items, bond level, and the name you gave your cat — that is, game progress.
• The restore code stored alongside it (e.g. CAT-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) is a random value generated by the app. It is a key to find a backup, not an identifier of a person, and we do not link it to your identity, contact details, or device.

14-2. Storage and handling

• Backups are held in a cloud database (Supabase, US region) and transmitted over HTTPS.
• We do not sell backup data, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with third parties.
• A backup can only be retrieved by someone who knows the restore code.

14-3. Advertising

Cat Chase is a free game supported by advertising. Google AdMob serves banner, interstitial, rewarded, and app-open ads; in doing so it uses advertising identifiers and approximate (IP-based) location for advertising purposes. See 3. Use of Advertising Identifiers and 7. Sharing with Third Parties. On iOS the app asks for tracking permission at launch, and declining it does not change how the game plays.

14-4. Retention and deletion

• Backing up again overwrites the previous contents stored under the same restore code.
• Settings > Reset progress clears only the data on your device; the cloud backup remains.
• To have a backup deleted, email help@koat.co.kr with your restore code and we will delete it promptly.

14-5. Children

Cat Chase is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not market this app to children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

16. App-Specific Notice — Readfold

Readfold contains no advertising. No advertising identifier is collected, and section 3 above does not apply to this app. If you do not sign in, the app collects no personal data beyond the anonymous usage analytics described below. Your subscriptions and reading history stay on your device.

16-1. Signing in is optional

Every feature works without an account. Sign in only if you want the same subscriptions on more than one device. Sign-in is offered through Google and Apple. If you choose Hide My Email with Apple, only Apple's relay address is stored and your real address is never passed to the app.

16-2. What we store

• Not signed in: nothing, apart from the usage analytics below.
• Account data (account identifier, email address, display name) — Google Firebase, outside Korea.
• Subscription list (feed addresses and names, folder names, display settings, last access time) — Supabase, Seoul region, Republic of Korea.
• Usage analytics (anonymous screen and feature events) — Google Firebase, outside Korea.

Never sent to a server: article titles, bodies, summaries and images; what you read and when; your searches; your front-page layout.

16-3. Cross-border transfer

Your subscription list is not transferred outside Korea. What a person chooses to read is the most personal thing this app touches, so it is kept in the Seoul region. Only account data and usage analytics leave the country (Google LLC, United States and others, for service operation and statistical analysis, retained until you delete your account or the processing agreement ends). If you do not sign in and turn analytics off, no cross-border transfer occurs.

16-4. Analytics can be turned off

Google Firebase Analytics collects anonymous statistics about which screens and features are used. It is on by default and can be turned off at Settings > Data and privacy > Share usage statistics; sending stops from that moment. Article titles, addresses and bodies, your feed addresses, and your search terms are never sent.

16-5. Notifications

The app can notify you about new articles and nudge you if you have been away. Notifications are composed on your device; no article data is sent to a server to produce them. You can turn them off in system or app settings at any time.

16-6. Retention and deletion

Delete your account at Settings > Account > Delete account. Your account identifier, email, display name and the subscription list held on the server are all deleted, and this cannot be undone. If you signed up with Apple, the Apple connection is revoked as well. Feeds and articles already on your device remain; only the sign-in is removed. Deleting the app removes the on-device data. If you have trouble, email help@koat.co.kr and we will act promptly.

16-7. Children

Readfold is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. The app displays the contents of RSS addresses you add yourself; the articles shown remain the responsibility of their publishers.

17. App-Specific Notice — ReQuiz

ReQuiz contains no advertising. No advertising identifier is collected, and section 3 above does not apply to this app. Your test-paper photos and notebooks are stored on your device and are never kept on our servers. Photos are, however, transmitted briefly for AI restoration, as explained in 17-2.

17-1. Signing in is optional

Every feature works without an account. Signing in links your subscription to your account so you can use it on another device. Sign-in is offered through Google and Apple. If you choose Hide My Email with Apple, only Apple's relay address is stored.

17-2. AI processing of test-paper photos (important)

When you ask the app to restore a page, that photo is sent to our restoration server (Google Cloud, Seoul region, Republic of Korea), which asks the Google Gemini API (Google LLC, United States) to process it.

• Our server does not store your photo. It is discarded as soon as the result is returned to the app.
• Content sent to the Gemini API is handled under Google's Gemini API terms; Google may retain requests for a limited period, for example for abuse monitoring.
• Test papers may show a name, school, class or score. Where these are not needed, cover them before shooting or crop the page to the questions before restoring.
• Photos you do not restore are never transmitted.

17-3. What we collect and process

• Not signed in: only photos you restore (processed transiently, 17-2) and the usage analytics below.
• Account data (account identifier, email address, display name) — Google Firebase, outside Korea.
• Subscription data (purchase and subscription status, store purchase token, app user identifier) — RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., United States). The identifier is a random anonymous value unless you sign in, in which case your account identifier is used.
• Usage analytics (anonymous screen views, feature counts, processing-time buckets) — Google Firebase, outside Korea. Exam titles, notes, tags, question content and images are never sent as analytics, and analytics are not linked to your account identifier.

Payments are handled by Google Play or the App Store; we never collect card details.

17-4. Cross-border transfer

Recipients: Google LLC (AI processing of photos, accounts, analytics) and RevenueCat, Inc. (subscription management), in the United States and elsewhere, transmitted over the network at the time of use, for restoration, account management, subscription management and statistical analysis. Retention: photos are discarded immediately after processing (except Google's abuse-monitoring retention); account data until you delete your account; analytics for 14 months; subscription data for the period required by law.

17-5. Camera and photo access

The app uses the camera to capture test papers and the photo library to import existing photos. It reads only the photos you pick, and saves restored images to your library only when you ask it to.

17-6. Notifications

The app may send study reminders, for example when questions are due for review. Notifications are composed on your device; no notebook content is sent to a server to produce them. You can turn them off in system settings at any time.

17-7. Retention and deletion

Delete your account at Settings > Account > Delete account; your account identifier, email and display name are deleted immediately. If you have already removed the app, follow koat.co.kr/requiz-delete.html to request deletion by email. Notebooks on your device are removed with the app. Purchase records are retained by Apple and Google as required by law.

17-8. Children

ReQuiz is intended for students aged 13 and over and for parents. Parents should capture and manage the papers of children under 13 themselves. We do not knowingly collect account data from anyone under 13 and delete it as soon as we become aware of it.
